Step 1: Seek Out Special Blooms

The first step is to find the the best blooms for pressing. You can explore your garden, a nearby meadow, or even a patch of greenery in a public space. Remember to always ask permission if the flowers are growing in someone’s garden or window box.  Look for flowers with vibrant colors and flat petals, as they press the best! 

Step 2: Harvesting

Now that you've spotted the prettiest petals, it's time to pick them. Ask an adult for help, and use scissors or your fingers to pick the flowers carefully. Be gentle, like fairies collecting precious treasures!

Step 3: Prepare the Blooms

Before we press our flowers, we must prepare them for their magical transformation. Gently remove any excess leaves and make sure the petals lie flat. 

Step 4: The Art of Pressing

To press your flowers, place them between two sheets of absorbent paper, such as newspaper or parchment. Arrange them carefully, making sure they don't overlap.
